Project Support Team

Communities and community groups undertaking the implementation of successful projects on the Uncovery Tour route will be able to draw on a Project Support Team for advice and assistance through the duration of their project.

The support team will be made up of knowledgeable professionals in the heritage, tourism, design, construction, public sector, grant writing, and other fields.

The role of the Project Support Team will be to provide information and advice on the overall project as needed, such as the following:

• Assist with research, identification of the commemorative story, and the preparation of a statement of values  
• Advise on potential community partnerships for the creation of commemorative elements
• Review submitted proposals for commemorative projects based on assessment criteria
• Provide recommendations to the Steering Committee about acceptance and funding for projects
• Provide communities with guidance on project development, commemorative element design, and the refinement of proposed written and graphic content
• Provide advice on seeking and applying for additional funding through other available grants
• Assist in putting out requests for proposal for consultants that may be needed to implement the community project, such as architects, designers, and engineers
• Work with engaged consultants to ensure consistency of elements and identity throughout
• Support communities and consultants in seeking partners for specialized expertise such as timber or masonry construction, ecologist, or archaeologist
• Support community groups and consultants in the preparation of construction and fabrication budgets
